Phyllis E. Gray contributed $200,000 to the Destiny Capital Campaign to Commemorate the Dale E. Gray Science Building. Mrs. Gray made this gift in memory of her late husband, Dale, who was a Founding Director of the Glen Oaks Community College Foundation in 1979.
At the groundbreaking in 2005, Mrs. Gray stated, "Dale would be very proud of today's groundbreaking and knowing he played a significant role in this new science building."
Dale was a long-time committed supporter of higher education and the concept of a local community college. Dale, and his brother Everett, were the first business owners to establish a GOCC Foundation scholarship (the Gray Brothers Stamping Machine Company Scholarship).
