In accordance with the mission of a community college, Psychology and Sociology faculty at Glen Oaks Community College are expected to teach a range of courses including, but not limited to: Introduction to Psychology, Psychology and Personality, Human Growth and Development, Abnormal Psychology, Principles of Sociology, Modern Social Problems, and Marriage and Family.
Faculty are expected to facilitate student learning by designing varied and exciting learning environments, developing and revising course curricula, integrating new technologies, embracing a multicultural environment and participating in academic and college committees and meetings.
In accordance with the mission of a community college, Biology faculty at Glen Oaks Community College are expected to teach a range of courses in General Biology, Microbiology, Anatomy and Physiology, Human Physiology and/or Chemistry.

In accordance with the mission of a community college, faculty at Glen Oaks Community College are expected to teach in a range of courses across the curriculum, in related areas. Possible areas of focus include: Introduction to Computers, Web Design, Health Informatics, Digital Studio and Design.
In accordance with the mission of a community college, Nursing faculty at Glen Oaks Community College are expected to teach in a range of courses across the curriculum, in related areas, i.e. medical surgical nursing, fundamentals, transitions in the classroom, skills laboratories and clinical areas or full life spectrum courses across both curriculum levels in classroom and clinical.
Glen Oaks Community Colleges’ Upward Bound Summer Academy has openings for certified teachers to teach a 6-week summer academy course, from June 18 – August 3, 2012, to high school students. A Bachelor’s degree with certification in the field is required.

In accordance with the mission of a comprehensive community college, the Director of Nursing provides academic leadership for the Nursing curriculum, faculty and students in the Nursing Department. The Director is responsible for administering all the programs offered within the department (LPN, RN and CNA) in accordance with accreditation standards and Michigan Board of Nursing. This individual will work cooperatively with Nursing faculty in order to maintain curriculum, while designing learning strategies that meet the needs of the students. This is a managerial position that requires an employee who acts on behalf of the College and assures adherence to relevant areas of the collective bargaining agreement.
The Director supports the continued development and implementation of a comprehensive program of assessment designed to meet both the continuous improvement interests of the institution and the standards of relevant accreditation agencies. This individual will work closely with college administration, but also must be willing to take initiative in developing the programs in the area, working cooperatively and communicating professionally with board members, faculty, staff, students, alumni and other interested parties in the process.
The Director will lead the accreditation efforts of the department.
