Understanding Your Student's Rights and Privacy:

Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974 regulates to whom the college may release information about a student's educational records. It prohibits the college from releasing students' information to anyone other than the student, even parents or spouse, without the student's written consent.
