New students take the ACCUPLACER evaluation. This evaluation is designed to help each student get a good start. It will help to identify strengths and weaknesses before beginning college. This is very important to building a solid plan for success. Please allow two and a half hours to complete the test. You will need a picture ID. A review packet can be picked up in the counseling office.
ACCUPLACER is a computerized test. Even prospective students with little or no computer experience can use ACCUPLACER. Please see a counselor if you have concerns. The number of questions on each test ranges from 17 to 22. The questions will appear one at a time on the computer screen. The questions are multiple choice, all you will need to do is point and click with the mouse. When you have completed the question and verified your answer, a new screen will appear with your next question.
The ACCUPLACER is designed using adaptive techniques. This means the computer will automatically determine which questions to present depending on the response to prior questions.
ACCUPLACER is un-timed. This helps to eliminate the pressure and test anxiety that students often feel. An un-timed test can also be beneficial for students with learning disabilities who often need more time than usual for testing. Students with a documented disability who require other types of accommodations may schedule a special testing session.
ACCUPLACER Waiver
Prospective students who receive the following minimum ACT or SAT1 scores may request that the ACCUPLACER Test be waived.
