TRiO Scholars Award Application
Recommendation Request Form
You may submit your TRiO Scholars Form electronically by emailing the completed form to:

All TRiO SSS students are eligible for this scholarship. Awards will be offered during Fall, Winter and Spring/Summer semesters of $750/full-time (12+ credits), $500/part-time (6-11 credits) and $250/less than part time (3-5 credits) students. TRiO SSS students must also meet the following criteria:

Be a currently active TRiO SSS participant

Have completed a minimum of 12 credits at GOCC and be registered for at least 3 credits in the upcoming Spring/Summer semester

Have participated in at least 1 scheduled contact with a TRiO staff member during the previous semester of attendance (i.e. intake, academic advising, career counseling, etc.)

Participated in at least 1 TRiO SSS On-Campus/On-line Workshop or have met with a TRiO SSS advisor to discuss information presented from a workshop-related topic (if a student had to miss due to a scheduling conflict, work, etc.) during the previous semester of attendance
-
Currently have and maintain at least a 2.0 GPA

Complete the application, recommendation letters and essay requirements (see application and recommendation request forms above)

Submit the application by the deadline listed on the application
Limit: 2 awards per student per semester (6 total awards maximum)
TRiO Academic Success Scholarship
This scholarship is only offered for Fall and Winter semesters. Scholarships will be automatically awarded to the two (2) TRiO SSS students with the HIGHEST GPA of the previous semester (Fall or Winter only). The monetary award will be $250/student. TRiO SSS staff will be assessing the indicated semester’s term GPA.
To be eligible, students must:

Have a current cumulative GPA (must have attended the semester previous)

Have attempted/completed at least 12 credits during the semester being assessed

Have participated in at least 1 scheduled contact with a TRiO staff member during the semester being assessed (i.e. intake, academic advising, career counseling, etc.)

Limit: 2 awards per student per semester (4 total awards maximum)
TRiO Achiever Scholarship
TRiO SSS will assess the difference between the student’s beginning semester cumulative GPA and their ending semester cumulative GPA (based on the assessed GPA).
To be eligible, students must:

Have a current cumulative GPA (must have attended the semester previous)

Have attempted/completed at least 12 credits during the semester being assessed

Have participated in at least 1 scheduled contact with a TRiO staff member during the semester being assessed (i.e. intake, academic advising, career counseling, etc.)
