This curriculum provides the education and field experience needed to be an effective Emergency Medical Technician (Basic). The EMT-Basic is the foundation of pre-hospital emergency care. The EMT-Basic may also work in an emergency room, clinic or on a rescue squad. The traits of a good EMT-Basic include professionalism, confidence, good communication skills and compassion. This certificates is designed to prepare the student for the EMT-Basic National Registry exam that is required for licensure in the State of Michigan and other states.
