2009 Skate-A-Thon nets 14 bags of gifts and groceries for family

Nearly 100 people attended a Skate-A-Thon at the Skate Galaxy in Three Rivers just before Christmas and they donated 14 bags of groceries, gifts and household items for a local family in need. The event was sponsored by the Medical Assistant Club and admission to the skate party was the donation of food and household items. Christmas was much brighter for the Adopt-AFamily, said Brenda Luczek (far right), Chairperson of the Medical Assistant Program at GOCC.

The Medical Assistant Club also had a very successful flower sale just before Christmas. The club sold 114 plants and had eight plants donated by Living Colors, the flower company. Some extra funds went into a fund to send an MA student to the national conference in Florida.
