Public Safety


Welcome to the Public Safety department which is staffed by deputies from the St. Joseph County Sheriffs department.

Mission Statement:

To provide a safe, and secure environment for students, staff, faculty, visitors, and those involved in the journey of higher learning.


Emergency Phones:

Yellow Emergency phone box locations are:

  • Main Concourse
  • Front Entrance hallway near Administrative offices

A Blue Emergency tower is located in the Student Parking lot. All Emergency phones are a direct connection to St. Joseph county 911.



Clery Act Compliance

In order to comply with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, Glen Oaks Community College’s Annual Security Report is now available. This report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on-campus and on the public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus. The report also includes institutional policies concerning campus security.

Sex Offender Registry

In accordance to the Campus Sex Crimes Prevention Act of 2000, Glen Oaks Community College is providing a link to the Michigan State Police Sex Offender Registry. The act requires institutions of higher education to issue a statement advising the campus community where law enforcement information provided by a state concerning registered sexual offenders may be obtained. In Michigan, convicted sex offenders must register with the Sex Offender Registry. The Michigan State Police is responsible for maintaining this registry.
