Placement Test Scores

Glen Oaks Community College uses the Accuplacer test to place students in appropriate classes. Accuplacer and ACT/SAT scores help to ensure that students are not placed in a writing, reading, or math class that is too easy, too difficult, or unnecessary. It is very important that you speak to a Glen Oaks advisor about your scores. The information below is very general. In some cases it is in the student’s best interest to retake part or all of the Accuplacer test. In addition, there may be other options available to students that are not immediately obvious by a simple reading of their scores.

*Students may take all or any part of the Accuplacer test twice each semester.
**Students interested in taking a math course, may take the ALEKS test to determine placement.
