Vikings Fall in Home Opener

The Vikings held their first home game of the 2016 season and the first time in over ten years to a full house last night against MCCAA western conference foe Kalamazoo Valley Community College. Glen Oaks came out of the gates strong going up early against the Cougars and used that momentum to take the first game 25-19. The Cougars came back in the 2nd set to win 25-21. In the 3rd game the Vikings fought back and kept things tight until a late run with timely kills by KVCC resulted in a 16-25 loss. The 4th set proved to be much of the same as the Vikings fought hard and dropped the set 18-25.

Freshman Calsey Gruzdov (Goshen HS/Goshen, IN) led the team in kills (10) and was 2nd in digs (8) and blocks (2). Gracie Roberts (Fr. Northridge HS/Elkhart,IN) led with 39 assists.

Glen Oaks drops to 0-2 overall and 0-2 in conference play.

The Vikings are back in action Thursday, September 8th hosting against nationally ranked Grand Rapids Community College at 6:30pm.
