Tracy Sterling

Head Volleyball Coach

Tracy Sterling takes over the reigns as the Head Volleyball Coach at Glen Oaks Community College for the 2023-24 season. Sterling comes to Glen Oaks after leading the Sturgis High School Varsity Volleyball program to 96 wins, four consecutive Division I District championship games, and being named the Wolverine Conference Coach of the Year in 2022!

Coach Sterling grew up and attended Sturgis High School and played collegiately at Kalamazoo Valley Community College in the 1993-94 seasons. She began her coaching career at a young age at Lake Area Christian School and has been coaching high school and AAU Club Volleyball off and on since 1997. She spent eleven years total coaching in the Sturgis High School system, with the last four as their Head Coach. Coach Sterling is also CAP Level 1 Certified and has been a member of the MHSAA Rules Committee.

Coach Sterling’s teams are known by their competitors for their tough, scrappy, winning mindsets they bring to the court and coach is planning on bringing those same characteristics to the Glen Oaks program. “This is an amazing opportunity for me personally, but I am more excited to grow the Glen Oaks Volleyball program with top people, students, and talent. We are committed to making this a program where people come to grow and develop socially, academically, and athletically as volleyball players. My ultimate goals are to see our players graduate and move on to four-year programs and adulthood and succeed due to the character, toughness, scrappiness, and winning mindsets they learned through their volleyball experiences on the way there!”
