Follett Bookstore will award ten (10) $200.00 Follett gift cards to be used for textbooks only. Gift cards will be awarded for Summer 2020 semester. Limit one scholarship award per student per academic year.
Note:High school dual enrolled students are not eligible.
Applicants for this scholarship must meet all of the following eligibility criteria:
Student must submit a one-page typed essay describing future educational and/or vocational plans.
Student must be in their second year at Glen Oaks Community College.
Student must have a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA.
Student must have completed at least 2/3 of all credits attempted.
Student must be enrolled in 6 credit hours or more during semester receiving the scholarship.

Awarded to students showing potential in athletics. Recipients must maintain eligibility requirements set forth by the N.J.C.A.A. Recipients must maintain a 2.0 cumulative grade point average and enroll full-time. Students need to contact the athletic department for more information at (269) 294-4215 or via their Contact Form.
Awarded to graduating area high-school seniors who have an excellent academic record in high school and who have potential for outstanding achievement while attending Glen Oaks. The scholarship will cover all educational costs up to award amount. Scholarship award will be pro-rated for less than full-time (12 credits) enrollment. Recipients must enroll in a minimum of 6 credit hours while receiving the award. The scholarship may be renewed for a second year if the student maintains the required GPA at Glen Oaks.
A minimum 3.5 GPA is required to apply for this scholarship. Finalists for this scholarship will interview with the President of Glen Oaks, the Dean of Students, and the Director of Financial Aid.
A minimum 3.0 GPA is required to apply for this scholarship.
Awarded to returning Glen Oaks Community College students.
This scholarship is meant to recognize outstanding collegiate academic achievement and is funded entirely by the Glen Oaks Community College faculty. To be considered eligible for this award, all potential recipients must meet the following criteria:
Be a returning full-time student (12 hours or more per semester)
Be enrolled in a degree or certificate program
Have completed at least 12 credit hours at Glen Oaks Community College
Have an accumulated GPA of 3.0 or better.
This scholarship may be applied to tuition, books, and fees. Recipients must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 or better to continue receiving the scholarship each semester.
Student Ambassadors are committed to providing a positive image of Glen Oaks Community College to prospective students, their families, alumni, and college and community members. The ambassadors are a select group of GOCC students who assist the Admissions Office in a variety of capacities, including recruiting functions, campus tours, visitation days, New Student Orientations, College Night, office functions, and campus or community events.
Student Ambassadors are expected to be enthusiastic, positive individuals who serve the college with pride and professionalism. Ambassadors will increase student engagement, develop leadership skills, and positively represent the student body.
Skills required for this scholarship include: excellent communication skills (verbal and written), proficient computer skills, leadership ability, productive member of a team, and effective time management.
This scholarship is in the amount of $200.00 per semester for a maximum of two semesters each academic year. It is renewable for a second year provided the ambassador meets all eligibility and maintenance requirements listed below, and the Director of Admission must permit the renewal.
New students with a high school grade point average of 3.0; transfer students with a college grade point average of 3.0; or current students with a Glen Oaks grade point average of 3.0.
Enroll in a minimum of 6 credit hours each semester in which student receives scholarship.
Ambassadors must attend a mandatory orientation and training session.
Work a minimum of 10 hours per semester, which can include campus events and tours, Campus Activities Board events, our annual College Fair, scheduled ambassador orientation, trainings, meetings, recruiting events, and light office work.
Students will complete and submit the Student Ambassador Application (available on the Glen Oaks web site or in the Student Services Office).
Deadline to submit all application materials is SEPTEMBER 13th for the Fall semester.
Submissions must include all parts to be considered.
Select applicants will participate in an interview with the Admissions Office and/or college staff.
A maximum of 8 ambassadors will be selected by the Admissions Office and/or college staff based upon application, letter of reference, and interview.
Maintain a grade point average of 3.0 each semester in which student receives scholarship.
Attend scheduled ambassador trainings, meetings, and events.
Work a minimum of 10 hours per semester, which can include campus events and tours, scheduled ambassador orientation, trainings, meetings, recruiting events, and light office work.
$100 will be awarded at the beginning of each semester in which the student receives the scholarship.
$100 will be awarded after the student has worked the minimum 10 hours that are required.
If the ambassador does not fulfill the 10 minimum hours required to work, he/she must reimburse the college the awarded scholarship amount (equal to $100).
Glen Oaks Community College provides for a specific Senior Citizen tuition benefit. This benefit provides Glen Oaks in-district residents who are 62 years of age or older at the time of registration a waiver of *tuition, technology fees, general fees, and activity fees (excluding Distance Learning fees and individual course fees)* for a maximum of eighteen (18) credit hours per year. Beyond the eighteen (18) credit hours per year, regular tuition rate and all fees apply.
Glen Oaks is offering 14 CTE scholarships to graduating high school seniors enrolled in the Career Technical Education (CTE) program and intending to continue in the same field as their CTE program after high school graduation. The CTE Scholarship award is $500 per year. This scholarship may be applied to tuition and fees only. Recipients must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 to continue receiving the scholarship each semester.
