Raymond served on the Glen Oaks Foundation Board from its inception in 1979 through his passing in 2013. Gretchen served on the College’s Board of Trustees for 18 years.

Next, the college officially named the campus student services wing the Philip G. and Isabel P. Ward Center for Student Success in honor of the commitment of Philip and Isabel Ward. Philip served as president of the college from 1976 to 1998.

“Philip, along with the support of his wife, spearheaded and financially contributed to countless initiatives at the school during his tenure as president,” said Devier. “The Dresser’s ties to the college go back to the early days of the college formation when Raymond served as the board’s attorney. Together, the Dressers served nearly 53 years of board service.”

New signs were hung prior to the gala to celebrate the naming of the new campus areas.

The Community College Foundation raised over $15,000 during the annual “Diamonds, Donors and Dollars for Scholars,” gala event. Over the past year, the Foundation awarded $78,830 to 66 students who were chosen by a committee for their academic achievements. Additionally, the athletic program received a $35,000 grant to award scholarships to student athletes who are participating on one or more of the Viking sports teams.
