Contractors to hear of sustainable solutions in home construction

The Building Science Academy and Glen Oaks Community College are bringing a seminar to the contracting industry with the latest sustainable solutions to modern construction. Strategies and opportunities for the Michigan Contracting Industry will be provided at the 3:00-6:00 p.m., Thursday, November 12 seminar in the Rocky River Room at the St. Joseph County Intermediate School District (ISD) building next to the college just south of Centreville on Shimmel Road. Fee for the 3-hour program is $10 per person and seating is limited.

Building Science Academy, LLC has experienced staff with over 1,000 combined energy audits and construction retrofit projects. The seminar includes updates on utility and state programs for the construction industry, how to profit in the construction retrofit market, where opportunities lie in the retrofit market, strategies for entering the retrofit market, what is home performance?, examples of energy efficiency retrofit projects, and home performance models and standards. Information will also be available on the equipment needed for contractors to enter the retrofit market. Light snacks will be served during the seminar.
