Glen Oaks Community College has named Denise DeVries, of Portage, as the new executive director of communications and marketing. DeVries was previously the senior manager of marketing and communications for Special-Lite Inc., a custom commercial door manufacturer, in Decatur, Michigan.
Prior to her work at Special-Lite, she held positions in new product development and served as the North American marketing manager for Armstrong International, in Three Rivers.
She also held positions at Consort Display Group in Kalamazoo, Griffin Pest Solutions in Kalamazoo, and Allen Edwin Homes in Portage.
“I’m excited to join the incredible team at Glen Oaks Community College,” said DeVries. “I look forward to enhancing the college’s presence, connecting with our students, faculty, and the broader community, and having a positive impact on the college’s future.”
DeVries has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in marketing from Bowling Green State University, in Bowling Green, Ohio.
She replaces Valorie Juergens, who is retiring in early January from Glen Oaks after over 11 years with the college.
