GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Director of Business Outreach and Services is the College’s direct liaison to the region’s business and industry customers. The Director is responsible for the development and delivery of consistently high quality customized, cutting-edge courses, course series, or seminars and workshops. The Director oversees all aspects of consultation of needs, proposal development, contractual agreements, instructor selection, evaluation, and internal administration of services. The Director writes, manages, evaluates, and reports on business training grants. The Director is responsible for apprenticeship programs and services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership:

  1. Projects a positive, energetic, and knowledgeable image of the College.
  2. Promotes all College programs, courses, and services to area businesses using onsite visits and other various communication methods.
  3. Continually assesses the quality, breadth, depth, and currency of all Business Outreach and Services courses offerings.
  4. Ensures for the Continuous Quality Improvement of all business services and course offerings.
  5. Represents the College in a variety of business-related community settings.
  6. Collaborates with county, regional, and state groups and organizations focused on Business Services.

Human Resources:

  1. Provides orientation to individuals teaching courses.
  2. Facilitates all necessary resources and other support for instructors.
  3. Selects, supervises, and evaluates individuals (and at times organizations) providing instruction.

Administrative:

  1. Prepares annual goals and objectives relative to the College’s Strategic Plan.
  2. Selects, supervises, and evaluates individuals (and at times organizations) providing instruction.
  3. Manages the development of custom courses, proposals, contracts, communications, evaluations, and reporting of all training courses provided.
  4. Monitors and oversees budget for area of responsibilities.
  5. Compiles periodic reports of activity and accomplishments.
  6. Performs other duties as assigned.

Apprenticeships:

  1. Meet with companies to develop apprenticeship plans.
  2. Conduct on-site visits to assist students with the selection of and registration for apprenticeship classes.
  3. Fill out and send to Bureau of Apprenticeship Training (B.A.T.) for completions for apprentices who have completed their programs.
  4. Maintain apprenticeship records and files.

COMMITTEE MEMBERSHIP: As assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business or Education required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have ability to manage multiple priorities and meet required deadlines
  • Prior business experience
  • Skilled in computer software necessary to complete assignments

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters Degree Preferred
