Employers: Connect with job seekers at upcoming job fair – Thursday, April 11

Employers looking to meet potential employees face to face are invited to participate in what is
expected to be the largest job fair in St. Joseph County on Thursday, April 11 at Glen Oaks Community College.

The event is made possible through a partnership between Michigan Works!, the St. Joseph County Department of
Human Services and Glen Oaks Community College. It will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Glen Oaks Community
College at 62249 Shimmel Rd., in Centreville, and is free and open to the public.

“All businesses who have current openings, or who anticipate openings over the next several months, are invited to
participate,” said Mary Kay Balaguer, director of business services for GOCC. “We are welcoming employers whether
they have one or 100 openings, whether the positions are full-time or part-time, or whether the positions are for
permanent, temporary or seasonal jobs.”

“This is a great opportunity for employers to connect with job seekers,” said Jan Reed, community resource
coordinator – Cass and St. Joseph County Department of Human Services. “The event is held each spring and affords
employers the opportunity to meet qualified, talented and diverse applicants.”

“The annual Job Fair held at Glen Oaks is one of the largest job fairs in the county,” said Kathy Olsen, Michigan
Works, marketing and community information coordinator. “With signs of the economy improving and with
graduation approaching, we are expecting a good turnout from the community.”

Businesses are required to register for the event by Friday, April 5 by calling the college at (269) 467-9945
