What is the Michigan Community College Guarantee?

The Michigan Community College Guarantee is your key to unlocking educational opportunities at Glen Oaks Community College. As part of the Michigan Achievement Scholarship, this guarantee is designed to help recent high school graduates cover tuition and mandatory fees at Michigan community colleges. Through this program, you can access up to three years of financial support to help you GO Start something new and achieve your goals at Glen Oaks.

Are you eligibile?

You may be eligible for the Michigan Community College Guarantee and ready to attend Glen Oaks if:

  • You have been a resident of St. Joseph County, Michigan, since July 1 of the previous calendar year. If you’re considered dependent per the FAFSA, your parent(s) must also meet this residency requirement.
  • You graduated from a Michigan high school with a diploma or received a high school equivalency certificate of completion in or after 2023.
  • You enroll full-time at Glen Oaks within 15 months of your high school graduation.
  • Be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident or approve refugee

If you receive the Federal Pell Grant, you are eligible for a $1,000 bonus to help pay for living expenses like books, transportation, and rent.

How to Apply

We’ve made applying for the Michigan Community College Guarantee simple. Just follow these easy steps:

  1. Complete the FAFSA – This is your gateway to financial aid, including the Michigan Achievement Scholarship and other valuable programs. Visit FAFSA.gov to get started.
  2. Apply to Glen Oaks Community College – If you haven’t already, submit your application to join our Viking family. Our admissions team is here to guide you through every step of the process. Apply Now
  3. Submit Any Additional Documentation – Be sure to provide any required documents to confirm your eligibility for the scholarship.
