Glen Oaks Financial Aid Office​​​


Welcome to the Glen Oaks Community College Financial Aid Office.  The Financial Aid Office provides various options for assisting students with their educational expenses.  Options include grants, scholarships, work opportunities, and loans.  The first step in applying for student aid is completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.gov.  Apply as soon as possible after January 1st for each academic year.

To protect the privacy of student records, the Glen Oaks Financial Aid Office requires students to provide photo identification before they can obtain information about their financial aid.  Students can authorize Glen Oaks personnel to disclose information pertaining to their records to a designee (parent, spouse, partner, relative, guardian, etc.) by completing an Authorization to Release Information form available in the Student Services Office on campus.


Student Consumer Information

Federal regulations require that institutions provide specific consumer information about the college and about financial aid to enrolled and propsective students.  The Consumer Information Guide document below provides the required information.

Please be informed your financial aid credit balance check will be mailed to your current address on file with the Registration Office.

Refunding for the following semesters begins:

2014-2015 Academic Year
2014 Fall semester
First Disbursement:  Friday, October 3
​*Second Disbursement: Friday, October 31
 
2015 Winter semester
First Disbursement:  Friday, February 20
*Second Disbursement:  Friday, March 6
 
2015 Spring/Summer semester
First Disbursement:    Friday, June 26
*Second Disbursement:   Friday, July 10
 
 
*Loans requested for only one semester are divided into two separate checks and mailed on first disbursement date and second disbursement date.

2015-2016 Academic Year 
 
2015 Fall semester
First Credit Balance Refund:      Friday, October 2, 2015
Second Credit Balance Refund:  Friday, October 16, 2015
 
2016 Winter semester
First Credit Balance Refund:      Friday, February 19, 2016
Second Credit Balance Refund:  Friday, March 4, 2016
 
2016 Summer semester
First Credit Balance Refund:      Friday, June 24, 2016
Second Credit Balance Refund:  Friday, July 8, 2016
 
Note for 2015-2016 academic year: All direct loans will be split into two equal payments after all charges are paid to the College.  The first half will be mailed on the first credit balance refund date and second half will be mailed on the second credit balance refund date.
