CampusRN Scholarship Program

CampusRN has launched a new scholarship program in conjunction with the creation of the CampusRN state edition network. This nationwide scholarship program is the most comprehensive of its kind for nursing programs and nursing students because it features scholarship winners from six different regions across the country in which CampusRN has launched state edition sites. CampusRN will award six $2500 scholarships to a needy and deserving nursing student in each region.

NEW! 2016-2017 Glen Oaks Community College Foundation Scholarship-
For Business Majors

The Glen Oaks Community College Foundation Scholarship Application for Business majors is available for the 2016-2017 academic year (Fall 2016, Winter 2017, Summer 2017). This Glen Oaks Community College Foundation Scholarship can be used for education related expenses and considers academic ability, financial circumstances, and career goals in the selection of the recipients.

Application Deadline:  4:00 p.m. Monday, April 11, 2016

Eligibility criteria for scholarship:

  • 2016 high school graduate
  • Pursuing a Business program of study at GOCC
  • St. Joseph County Resident

OMNI Community Credit Union @Work Scholarship Program

OMNI Community Credit Union would like to assist those members who have graduated from college with a scholarship to help with their college debt. At a minimum, must be currently employed for at least one year after graduation to be eligible. We would provide six college graduates with a two-thousand five hundred dollar scholarship paid directly to the student loan provider. College graduates must be members of the Credit Union in order to be eligible for the scholarship.

National Farmworker Jobs Program

This is a grant from the Department of Labor that assists those who have done seasonal and migrant farm work within the last 2 years. Unlike student loans, this is a grant and therefore does not have to be paid back. This grant can only be considered by students who are only planning on obtaining a two-year degree or less. This grant can assist students with tuition, books, tools, and a weekly stipend for time spent in the classroom.

Glen Oaks Foundation Scholarships

All Glen Oaks Community College Foundation Scholarships can be used for education related expenses and consider academic ability, financial circumstances, and career goals in the selection of the recipients.  Applicants must also complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) located on-line at  The Glen Oaks Community College Foundation Scholarship Application is available in the Glen Oaks Financial Aid Office on campus or from the Glen Oaks web site.

Albion College Transfer Scholarship


In order to provide an incentive for outstanding transfer students to consider Albion College as the institution for completion of their bachelor degree requirements, a Distinguished Albion College-Glen Oaks Community College Transfer Scholarship has been established. This scholarship is offered to the top qualifying applicant from Glen Oaks Community College. Please contact the Glen Oaks Financial Aid Office for eligibility criteria and application. The deadline will be April 1st of each academic year.




Glen Oaks Community College Institutional Scholarships

Athletic Scholarship
Awarded to students showing potential in athletics. Recipients must maintain eligibility requirements set forth by the N.J.C.A.A. Recipients must maintain a 2.0 cumulative grade point average and enroll full-time. Students need to contact the athletic department for more information (ext. 215).
Presidential and Dean's Scholarships

Awarded to graduating area high-school seniors who have an excellent academic record in high school and who have potential for outstanding achievement while attending Glen Oaks. The scholarship will cover all educational costs up to award amount. Recipients must enroll full-time while receiving the award. The scholarship may be renewed for a second year if the student maintains the required gpa at Glen Oaks. Students who qualify will be sent a post card from Glen Oaks directing them here for the application. Students can contact their high-school guidance counselor to confirm they will be on the mailing list.

Presidential Scholarship Requirements
A minimum 3.5 GPA is required to apply for this scholarship. Finalists for this scholarship will interview with the President of Glen Oaks, Dr. David Devier.
Dean's Scholarship Requirements
A minimum 3.0 GPA is required to apply for this scholarship.​ 

Glen Oaks Community College Faculty Scholarship

This scholarship is meant to recognize outstanding collegiate academic achievement and is funded entirely by the Glen Oaks Community College faculty.  To be considered eligible for this award, all potential recipients must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a returning full-time student (12 hours or more per semester)
  • Be enrolled in a degree or certificate program
  • Have completed at least 12 credit hours at Glen Oaks Community College
  • Have an accumulated GPA of 3.0 or better.


This scholarship may be applied to tuition, books, and fees.  Recipients must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 or better to continue to receive the financial benefits.

 Glen Oaks Community College Student Ambassador Scholarship

Student Ambassadors are committed to providing a positive image of Glen Oaks Community College to prospective students, their families, alumni, and college and community members. The ambassadors are a select group of GOCC students who assist the Admissions Office in a variety of capacities, including recruiting functions, campus tours, visitation days, New Student Orientations, College Night, office functions, and campus or community events.


Student Ambassadors are expected to be enthusiastic, positive individuals who serve the college with pride and professionalism. Skills required for this scholarship include:  excellent communication skills (verbal and written), proficient computer skills, leadership ability, productive member of a team, and effective time management.

This scholarship is in the amount of $200.00 per semester for a maximum of two semesters each academic year. It is renewable for a second year provided the ambassador meets all eligibility and maintenance requirements listed below.


TRiO Student Support Services Scholarships

 TRiO Scholars Award - All TRiO SSS students are eligible for this scholarship.  Awards will be offered during Fall, Winter and Spring/Summer semesters of $750/full-time students and $500/part-time.  Students must also meet certain criteria. 


TRiO Academic Success Scholarship - This scholarship is only offered for Fall and Winter semesters.  Scholarships will be automatically awarded to the two (2) TRiO SSS students with the HIGHEST GPA of the previous semester (Fall or Winter only).  The monetary award will be $250/student.

TRiO Achiever Scholarship - This scholarship is only offered for Fall and Winter semesters. Scholarships will be automatically awarded to the two (2) TRiO SSS students who have shown the most improvement during the previous semester (Fall or Winter only). The monetary award will be $250/student.

State of Michigan Scholarships / Grants

Tuition Incentive Program

The Tuition Incentive Program (TIP) encourages eligible students to complete high school by providing tuition assistance for the first two years of college and beyond. To meet the financial eligibility requirement, a student must have (or have had) Medicaid coverage for 24 months within a 36-consecutive-month period as identified by the Michigan Department of Human Services (DHS). TIP provides assistance in two phases. Phase I covers tuition and mandatory fee charges for eligible students enrolled in a credit-based associate degree or certificate program at a participating Michigan community college, public university, degree-granting independent college, federal tribally-controlled college, or Focus: HOPE. Phase II provides a maximum of $2,000 total tuition assistance for credits earned in a four-year program at an in-state, degree-granting college or university.

Michigan Competitive Scholarship

The Michigan Competitive Scholarship program is available to undergraduate students pursuing their first degrees at an approved Michigan postsecondary institution.  Students must demonstrate both financial need and merit and eligible applicants must take the ACT and achieve a qualifying score prior to entering college.

Michigan Indian Tuition Waiver
The Michigan Indian Tuition Waiver is a program enacted by Public Act 174 of 1976, which waives the tuition costs for eligible Native Americans in public community colleges or universities within Michigan. To be considered eligible, Native American applicants must be a Michigan resident and have resided in Michigan for twelve consecutive months at the time of application; must attend a public institution in Michigan; and must be one-quarter (1/4) Native American blood quantum AND an enrolled member of a U.S. federally-recognized tribe.

Miscellaneous Scholarships


Campus Explorer Exclusive Scholarship is a monthly $1,000 giveaway, designed to help students pay for their  higher-education expenses. Every month, Campus Explorer will announce a  new scholarship – and a new way to win. A winner will be randomly  selected from the entrants. 

Castle Ink's Green Scholarship  This $2500 scholarships is for students who are United States citizen or permanent resident with a minimum 2.5 Grade Point Average.


Kristy’s Kids Memorial Scholarship - Awarded to students pursuing a degree/certificate in Early Childhood Education.


MassMutual Scholars A national scholarship program for high-achieving African American, Asian, and Hispanic students interested in careers in the insurance and financial services industry


Midwest Energy Cooperative Adult Scholarship
Adults age 21 years and older who receive monthly electric service from Midwest Energy Cooperative, and whose primary residence is in Midwest’s service area, may apply for one of two $1,000 college scholarships. One scholarship will be awarded for the fall semester and one for the winter semester. Scholarships may be used for tuition, fees and/or book expenses and will be paid directly to the college or university.
Applicants must be enrolled for a minimum of 6 credit hours at a community college, a 4-year university or an accredited trade school. Two letters of recommendation from non-family members are required with application submission.
Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel Scholarship
Applicants must be a graduate of a St. Joseph County High School and currently reside in St. Joseph County. Recipient must be a 2nd year student at GOCC, and have a 2.5 GPA.
Sturgis Exchange Club Swihart Scholarship
Applicants for this scholarship must be accepted into a Glen Oaks Allied Health or Nursing degree program.

Sturgis Hospital Auxiliary Medical Scholarship Guild
Awarded to students pursuing a degree in Health Occupations.

Sturgis Area Community Foundation Student Loan Program
Graduates of Sturgis, Burr Oak and Bronson High Schools are eligible to borrow money to attend an accredited college, university or community college of their choice. Please check for information on this program and other Scholarships & Grants available through the Sturgis Area Community Foundation.


The First National Bank Scholarship/Three Rivers American Legion Student Nurses Scholarship Fund
Awarded annually to a student attending an accredited school of nursing.



The Women’s Education Coalition Grant Program
Applicants must be adult women who have had a significant break in their formal education and can demonstrate how post-high school education will help them reach their goals of increased financial independence. Both part-time and full-time students may apply for assistance.

Dorothy Hiatt Nursing Scholarship
This scholarship was established by her family to honor Dorothy Hiatt, R.N. She embraced the Nursing profession at Three Rivers Area Hospital and dedicated 41 years to caring for others. Patients, families and coworkers admired Dorothy for her skills as an excellent nurse and administrator.  Application deadline usually in April.
