Glen Oaks’ Campus Activities organization is hosting a community-wide blood drive on Thursday, Feb 16, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on the concourse.
Representatives from the Michigan Versiti Blood Centers, based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, will be on campus to administer the event. The company hosts community blood drives throughout Michigan at schools, businesses, churches and other organizations.
With less than a day’s supply of available blood, communities throughout the state face a potential crisis as hospitals may not have the blood needed to treat patients. Donations are needed immediately, or patients’ lives could be at risk. As blood supplies continue to remain uncertain, local blood drives are needed more than ever.
