Glen Oaks Community College is pleased to announce that Carissa Kline, a CTE graphic design student, has received a Scholastic Gold Key and Honorable Mention for her two digital illustration entries “Pal” and “Her” submitted in December.
“Carissa’s work was selected from over 1,000 students representing dozens of high schools in southwest Michigan and northern Indiana,” said Linda Walker, CTE graphic design instructor. “The jurors chose approximately 750 pieces which were accepted into the Scholastic show and are on display at the South Bend Museum of Art (SBMA) through March 9.”
“The Gold Key is the top award one can receive,” said Walker. “The exhibit reception and awards presentation took place on Sunday, February 3 at the SBMA. Carissa and her family were all in attendance and including myself. I’m very proud of her achievement and foresee a tremendous creative career in Carissa’s future!”
Kline is a first year CTE graphic design student from Mendon, Michigan. She plans on continuing with art and design after high school.
