Foundation to host celebration – Apr. 26

The Glen Oaks Community College Foundation invites you to a night of food, music, fellowship, and fun as it plans its spring fundraiser on Friday, Apr. 26, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., on the newly renovated grand concourse on the Glen Oaks campus.

“This year’s theme is: ‘Creating a Blueprint for Success,’” said Vonda Marrow, executive director of the Glen Oaks Foundation. “Being able to award students scholarships to help achieve their educational goals is a primary goal of the Glen Oaks Community College Foundation. The Glen Oaks Foundation awards over $85,000 in scholarships from donors each year.”

The Celebration will feature a silent and live auction, hors d’oeuvres and drinks.  A special live auction opportunity will be to bid on a private dinner with Fred Wallace Haise Jr., prior to his Viking Speaker Series program May 17, 2019. Haise is a former American NASA astronaut, fighter pilot with the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Air Force, and a test pilot. He is one of only 24 people to have flown to the moon.

“In addition, there is an opportunity to bid on tuition for a two-year associate degree, valued at $7,000,” said Marrow. “This is a wonderful opportunity for someone to take advantage of helping someone to pay for a two-year education.”

Tickets are $50 per person. Seating is limited. For tickets or questions, call (269) 294-4384 or
