Motorcycle training classes available from May through September
Registration is now open for the 2025 Motorcycle Safety Program at Glen Oaks Community College. The season officially began April 26 and runs through September 21.
The program is offered in partnership with the Motorcycle Safety Foundation and is funded in part by the State of Michigan’s Motorcycle Safety Grant. It provides training that can lead to a Michigan CY motorcycle endorsement.
Two course options are available:
- Basic Rider Course (BRC): For new riders. This course includes an online learning module and two in-person riding sessions.
- Basic Rider Course 2 (BRC2): For experienced riders who may have previous experience riding in other states, on dirt bikes, or without a license. This one-day course helps improve skills.
All training takes place on the Glen Oaks campus in Centreville, Michigan. Motorcycles are provided free of charge. The cost to participate is $50 per person.
Upon successful completion, participants will be registered with the Michigan Secretary of State. A separate $16 fee applies to add the endorsement to a driver’s license.
Students must bring their own helmet and eye protection and wear long sleeves, long pants, and footwear that covers the ankles.
Registration opens at 9 a.m. on the first Monday of each month. Online course access and registration links will be available 30 days before each class begins.
Upcoming 2025 registration dates:
