The community is invited to donate blood at the Campus Activities sponsored blood drive on Monday, Feb. 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the campus of Glen Oaks Community College. The event will be held on the grand concourse.
Blood donation services will be provided by Versiti Blood Center of Michigan. Versiti is the sole supplier of blood to Bronson and Ascension Borgess. Blood donations stay local to help patients in the local community.
Appointments are encouraged, although walk-in donors are welcome. Appointments can be made by signing up at: Versiti.org/mi. Masks are required on the GOCC campus and per CDC guidelines, masks are required while donating.
The Detroit Free Press reported in mid-January that Michigan hospitals are in dire need of blood, indicating that the supply is the worst it has been in over 20 years.
