“We have 46 employers registered for the event, with limited space for a few more,” said Val Juergens, director of
communications and marketing for Glen Oaks Community College. “Businesses participating in the Job Fair either
have current openings or anticipate openings. Employers may be planning on filling one position or 100 positions—
these positions may be full-time or part-time, and they could be permanent, temporary and/or seasonal.”
The event is made possible through a partnership between Michigan Works!, the St. Joseph County Department of
Human Services and Glen Oaks Community College. It will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the gymnasium at Glen
Oaks Community College, 62249 Shimmel Rd., in Centreville, Mich., and is free and open to the public.
“This is a great opportunity for job seekers to connect with employers,” said Jan Reed, community resource
coordinator – Cass and St. Joseph County Department of Human Services. “The free event is held each spring and
affords employers the opportunity to meet qualified, talented and diverse applicants.”
“The annual job fair held at Glen Oaks is one of the largest job fairs in the county,” said Kathy Olsen, Michigan
Works!, marketing and community information coordinator. “With signs of the economy improving and with
graduation approaching, we are expecting a good turnout from the community. The pre-job fair workshop is an
