Glen Oaks welcomes Hughes as foundation director

Glen Oaks Community College welcomes Pam Hughes as
the new executive director of the Glen Oaks Foundation. In this role, she
will lead the college’s advancement initiatives. Hughes has worked in
development for over nine years and has worked and volunteered in the
St. Joseph County community for nine years as well.

“We are excited about having Pam come aboard,” said Mike Doe,
president of the Glen Oaks Community College Foundation Board. “She
brings a lot of experience in development and is well connected in the
community.”

“I’m excited about working in St. Joseph County again,” said Hughes. “I
look forward to working with Glen Oaks alumni, friends and community
as we move forward to advance the college. It will be fun connecting
and reconnecting with people I’ve worked with through the years as we
work toward raising funds for scholarships, study abroad and community
outreach.”

Hughes will begin the position on July 7. She will continue to build and retain relationships with alumni and
friends of the college and expand opportunities for partnerships with businesses in working to meet student
needs through increased scholarship opportunities and requests of the college.

A native of Denver, Colorado, Hughes moved to southwest Michigan 20 years ago. She worked at Perry
Personnel Plus Staffing Co. for nine years. During that time she volunteered for the American Cancer Society
and eventually took a position with the organization in Portage, Michigan. Having been there nine years, in her
most recent role as senior manager for Relay For Life, she directed over 22 events each year.

Hughes serves on the Water Festival Committee in Three Rivers, Michigan, where she resides. She enjoys
water activities and resides in the Fisher Lake area.
