Industry Partnership Provides Essential Materials for Hands-On Welding Training
Glen Oaks Community College (GOCC) and the St. Joseph County ISD Career and Technical Education (CTE) welding program have received a generous donation of 11,373 pounds of steel tubing from Lozier Corporation’s Middlebury, IN plant. This contribution will give students valuable hands-on experience in welding, cutting, and fabrication, helping them prepare for careers in the industry.

“This donation allows students to work with real materials that meet industry standards,” said Alyse Bannister, welding instructor at Glen Oaks. “Training on high-quality materials is key to developing the skills they need for the workforce.”
The donation includes six bundles of 1” x 2 ¾” tubing in 11-gauge and 14-gauge thickness. It will support training in Oxy-fuel cutting, Plasma Arc Cutting, Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), and more.
Both the CTE and college welding programs appreciate Lozier Corporation’s support. This donation directly enhances student training and workforce readiness. Partnerships like this help meet the growing demand for skilled welders.
GOCC sincerely thanks Lozier Corporation for investing in workforce development and providing essential resources for student success.
