Several faculty hired at Glen Oaks Community College

Dr. Ana Gaillat, Dean of the College, introduced several new full-time faculty members the Glen Oaks Community College Board of Trustees meeting, Wednesday, September 9.

Jeffery Hucko has been hired as a Biology instructor. Originally from Winona, Minnesota, Hucko has taught at Winona State University and Central Lakes College. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences at the University of Kentucky, a Master of Science in Biological Sciences (Animal Behavior) at Eastern Kentucky University and a Master of Science in Biological Sciences (Environmental Biology) at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

Sarah Simmons joins the college as a Chemistry instructor. Simmons taught at Washtenaw Community College, Jackson Community College, and Albion College. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry at Albion College and a Master of Science in Organic Chemistry at the University of Michigan.

Darcy Owings is a new Nursing faculty originally from Dexter, Michigan. Owings is a Nurse Practitioner with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Michigan and a Master of Science in Nursing from Michigan State University. She earlier served as a Clinical Instructor at Glen Oaks in 2008-2009.
