What is TRIO?

What is TRIO
In support of our nation’s call to provide educational opportunity for all Americans regardless of ethnic background or economic circumstances, the United States Congress established a series of academic support programs to help low-income Americans enter college and graduate.

These seven programs, referred to as the TRIO Programs (initially there were just three) are funded under Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965. Student Support Services is one of those programs and has been providing academic and personal support for students at Glen Oaks Community College since September 2010.

Check out the TRIO Pipeline for the history of all TRIO programs!
