The main hallway at Glen Oaks Community College, Centreville, was filled with people from the outside door to the Student Admissions Office beginning early Monday, November 16. The first day to register for Winter 2010 classes saw up to 100 students lined up before 8 a.m. The college is adding class sections for popular courses, recruiting additional part-time instructors, and using additional classrooms to meet the demand. Enrollment has risen 20 percent in the past year as the college deals with record numbers of students. The most popular areas of study include nursing, allied health, computers, business and college transfer courses.
