Upward Bounders read Christmas stories to youngsters

Students taking part in the Upward Bound program at Glen Oaks Community College recently participated in Reading with TRiO at the Sturgis Public Library. Each Upward Bound student was paired with a youngster for the opportunity to read an exciting Christmas story.
In all, 15 Upward Bound participants joined the Grinch at the Sturgis library.

Upward Bound is a national program fully-funded by the U.S. Department of Education to prepare students for higher education. Eligible students in grades 9 through 12 at Sturgis High School and Three Rivers High School take part in the program designed to provide academic and cultural success.
