Watercolor and Landscaping classes highlight Glen Oaks Continuing Education spring offerings

Glen Oaks Community College announces the following Continuing Education courses that are

Watercolors for Beginners
Come and see how to use watercolors, including tips and tricks and some interesting effects that can be created utilizing
household items. Participants should bring a photo or image (from a magazine, etc.) that they would like to try to paint.
You will learn techniques on the first night and begin to create projects by drawing or experimenting with paint. The
second class is where you will finish your project.

When: Monday, Mar. 31, 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.,
Monday, Apr. 14, 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: Dresser Business Development Center Auditorium
Cost $25, plus $5 for supplies

Watercolor & Collage
Come and enjoy continuing from your basic watercolor and adding textures and papers to create your own unique
artwork. Both beginners and more experienced students will enjoy learning in this two-night class. Enjoy the creative
atmosphere and your artwork being created.

Tuesday, May 6, 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: Dresser Business Development Center Auditorium
Cost $25, plus $5 for supplies

Landscaping – Planting Bulbs
The instructor will provide a step-by-step guide on what to do to plant bulbs. Participants should bring specific landscape
related questions and plant photos to help with questions.

When: Monday, May 19, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: Glen Oaks Community College
Cost: $40

Women in WWII
This 11⁄2 hour class examines women during World War II who actively participated in the war working in such industries
as bomb factories and the manufacturing of tanks on the home front, women who trained for active armed service,
experienced active warfare, and women who participated in such activities as resistance movements.

Instructor: Irene Elksnis-Geisler
When: Monday, June 2, 6.30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: Glen Oaks Community College
Cost: $40
