Earn Money for College Through Federal Work-Study

If you are interested in working while attending college, you must first submit your FAFSA to see if you qualify.

Federal Work-Study allows eligible students to earn money through part-time employment while enrolled in classes. These positions are designed to support your academic success while helping you pay for educational expenses.


What Is Federal Work-Study?

Federal Work-Study is a need-based financial aid program funded by the federal government.

At Glen Oaks:

  • Work-study jobs are part-time, up to 20 hours per week
  • Positions are limited
  • Students must demonstrate financial need
  • Students must be enrolled in at least 6 credits.
  • Employment depends on continued enrollment and academic progress

Funding is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

Featured Federal Work-Study Program

America Reads Tutoring Program

America Reads is a Federal Work-Study program that places Glen Oaks students in local elementary schools to support early literacy development.

This program was created in response to a national initiative encouraging college students to help improve reading skills among young learners.

Students selected as tutors:

  • Must pass a background check
  • Work in area schools
  • Work hours will vary based on your class schedule and needs of the local school

Positions are limited.
