DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Glen Oaks Community College, a NJCAA Division II institution and a member of the Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) is seeking applications for a Women’s Volleyball Assistant Coach. We are looking for a highly motivated, energetic, growth-minded coach who is ready to teach and build relationships that will help develop players to become better athletes and encourage their social development. Successful candidates must work in compliance with the NJCAA and Glen Oaks regulations in conjunction with the Athletic Director and the Head Coach. The Assistant Coach will be responsible for assisting in the planning, organizing, coaching, instructing, and evaluating all aspects and facets of a successful program. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  1. Assist head coach with on-court instruction for player development, practices, and games.
  2. Breakdown film and create scouting reports through the Hudl program for the purpose of game
    preparation.
  3. Help transport athletes to and from college sponsored contests and events.
  4. Recruit and develop relationships with potential athletes, coaches, and parents.
  5. Assist with everyday program operations, including travel arrangements.
  6. Academic monitoring and support.
  7. Comply with all laws, policies, rules and regulations governing the college, the NJCAA and the
    MCCAA western Conference.
  8. Coordinating equipment.
  9. Other tasks assigned by the Athletic Director and/or Head Coach.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two or more years coaching experience in college, high school, or club athletics.
  • Must be CPR/First Aid Certified or able to obtain within six (6) months of
    employment.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with no restrictions.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Prior college coaching experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Drive.
  • Strong organizational, writing, oral communication, and computer skills.
